#133 Lasater Cemetery

Posted on

Lascassas Quadrangle” On Barlow Lane near Cason Knobs. On West side of Barlow Lane and on east side of prominent hill called Spain Knob.

Located on the old Lasater Home Place which lies in both Wilson and Rutherford Counties. These stones were placed by Thomas Byrd Florida (1876-1954), their grandson, and are probably overgrown at this date (2008). The cemetery is located approximately in the middle of 400 acres of private property which may be accessed from Barlow Lane, Cainesville pike, or Spain’s Hill Road. Photographed by Madge Anne Florida Patton. WindsongGlass@dtccom.net Sent to me by Gwen Boyd

Got an email from Estelle Hall in 2009:

It is noted that the stones are probably overgrown at this date. Actually, I saw these a few months ago and they are very visible. The owner, Jimmy Lester, has not allowed them to become overgrown (as of 2008). It would be very hard to find them without his help. It was a long tractor ride to get to them.

Thanks to Jimmy Lester for keeping this cemetery in good shape!

According to the 1970 cemeteries book, there were two or more field stone markers.
